Friendly reminder. NO VOTES HAVE BEEN CAST YET
got it?

Reminder, at this stage of the game in 2004 the declared winner of the Democratic Party was Doctor Howard Dean (and we may argue till the cows come home if he would have been a better candidate than the ultimate nominee, who'se candidacy was all but over at this stage of the game).

Now I don't know about you... but I don't recall voting for Doctor Dean in November of 2004.

He didn't even do decently at Iowa.

So for all those saying that this is game, set match... I wish to remind you of this little fact once again...

NO VOTES HAVE BEEN CAST

Until those pesky votes are cast in the only poll that matters, we will know WHO the actual nominee will be.

Now carry on...

It gets insane round these parts during primary season.

And who that person is, well my damn business

3. Yes, and the press, and the Republicans, were busy telling us that Dean was the "inevitable nominee"

9. And Dean was the damn clear winnner
as I said, the MSM will peee its pants if HRC does badly in the Iowa and N. Hampshire caucases; in particular FOX, who'se been pushing her candidacy from the day after the 2006 elections...

Her innevitability is as shrill as Dr Dean's was

6. "You're either with us or you're with the terrorists!"
The fallacy of a false dilemma coupled with the threat of excommunication from the 'community' exploits some powerful emotions. Bullies and autocrats have employed this for ages. We can easily see how, when one's arsenal of affirmative motivators and principled arguments runs low, the zealous dedication to "winning" will cause people to grab for less civilized weaponry.

After all, it worked for the right ... from the Dixiecrats to the Southern Dems to the establishment partisans to today. It's the RIGHT-wing side of the Democratic party that's abandoned it and gone to the "dark side" repeatedly in the last 40 years. From the Reagan Democrats to the DLC, liberals and "New Deal" Democrats have knuckled under time after time.

Hell, with that track record, why would they change?

But boy oh boy... just a small dose of a very mild form of their own medicine and the screaming begins.

The idea that a liberal might just not vote or make a write-in vote is NOTHING compared to Thurmond's Dixiecrats or Wallace's third party or the Reagan Democrats. Nothing.

And some people wonder why anyone would be an independent liberal? Wow.

8. And that my friend is one of the many reasons
why I am an independent.

As is I foresee the death of one if not two major parties... and the country... but that is a matter for another thread.

:-)

10. Yup. Me too.
When 'loyalty' becomes more important that other individual values and principles, we're truly and deeply f*cked.
