Perino: Bush Will Veto SCHIP ‘Quietly’ Without ‘Ceremony’
Perino: Bush Will Veto SCHIP ‘Quietly’ Without ‘Ceremony’

Both the Senate and the House have passed an expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) with strong bipartisan majorities. In today’s White House press briefing, a reporter said that Democratic leaders would likely be sending the legislation to the President to sign (or, in this case, veto) this afternoon.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino confirmed that President Bush plans to veto the legislation “tomorrow or so.” When asked whether there will be a ceremony, Perino replied, “I would not anticipate that there would be any ceremony.” She added, “The President will probably veto it quietly.”

I'm sure the the majority of the neocon machinations escape his comprehension.

9. If He Vetoes It Quietly - The Dems Should Counter - VERY LOUDLY......
the Dems shouldn't give him a chance to push this under the rug. They should make sure that they embarrass him beyond all belief on this. Make him look real bad.

13. The SOB should be forced to bring all the children he's
used as props during is time in office (the 'snowflake' kids, the children of service men & women, any kids he's hidden behind in the past) up on the fucking stage and veto this bill right in fucking front of them.

14. I'm surprised she didn't say "What SCHIP bill?"
They know it's unpopular to go against and want to hide it as much as possible. Just like the most important news releases come out on Friday night.

Here's an idea, how about Democrats don't let him do it quietly?

This is your legacy, mein Chimperor. No health care for anybody. Especially children, after they are born of course. Aren't you proud of what you do?
