3. Factory food is dangerous..
I once found a piece of a metal chopping blade in a brownie mix.. Dumb me.. I sent it to them to warn them, and they sent me two free coupons :silly:

Luckily no one swallowed it.. It was about an inch long and very sharp :(

7. Exactly. This is how they do it...start small, let the media
get a little excited (if they do at all anymore), let it die down, and then trickle out more recalls when the 30 second American attention span switches back to Britney Spears.

6. Oh, yuck!
As someone who inevitably finds the one piece of bone in a pot of homemade soup, the one bit of eggshell in a serving of scrambled eggs, and even found a fish bone in a can of tuna once (and thereafter was so grossed out that I couldn't finish the rest), there's no doubt in my mind that I'd "find" these plastic bits as well. Time to stay away from this brand!

8. how did the plastic get in there?
The only thing I can think of is that it's from the machine that cans the stuff. If so, I'm surprised they didn't realize what was going on sooner.

11. remember the generic tylenol recall?
They had metal bits in the pills? They found that the machines used were shedding strips of metal. The machines were so old, and of course none of the *profits* were ever used to upgrade the machines. So here we are with probably another version of the *pinch every cent out of the machinery* mentality of big business.

10. I like this line...
The product contains pieces of hard plastic that present a choking hazard and may cause injury if swallowed.

Like if the "pieces of hard plastic" didn't present a "choking hazard," then there would be no problem. Whats wrong with simply The product contains pieces of hard plastic and leave it at that?
