I suspect Democrats will want to put the most viable Democrat into that race and Bill Richardson would win for sure. Heather Wilson just put her hat in on the Republican side but I think she will lose and if Richardson got in she would lose badly.

I think Richardson will come in 4th place in Iowa, get out of the Presidential race, then jump into the Senate race. He can use the money he raised in the Presidential bid for his Senate race.

He may try to hold out for a VP spot but I think he will be told he is needed in the Senate. It's too important for us to make a pick up in New Mexico!

1. If he'll run for it, I really think he could beat the pants off Wilson.
Richardson is very popular here. It drives the conservatives crazy because nothing they say about him makes any difference. :)

Oh, and if he does, I'll work my overworked teacher ass off for him.

4. I hadn't thought of that, but that would definitely be another plus.
I hope Bill stays in politics, working for the state. Warts and all, I really like him and think he's done a lot of good for NM. If he can help get NCLB overturned and revamped, he'll redeem himself completely as far as I'm concerned.
