http://snipurl.com/1rx9i"After my bike ride I usually ride by the courthouse on Saturday to say “good morning” to the peace demonstrators. I am a decorated Vietnam veteran who remembers how millions died in Vietnam after we abandoned our allies. The peace movement never acknowledges these deaths … a really “inconvenient truth” for them because they caused them to happen.
As I rode by I saw many more American flags than usual, no “Bush lied” posters, no impeach Bush posters, no impotent U.N. flags. I saw posters really supporting the troops, posters calling for victory in Iraq, posters saying radical Islam wants to kill you (and they do) … and other assorted pro-American slogans.
All I can say is … it’s about time. The leader of this peaceful and respectful group was making a statement and asking some questions when I arrived. He asked why the peace protesters always protested only America and George Bush. Why are you not protesting the brutality of Muslim radicals in front of a mosque? Why are you not protesting the silence of moderate Muslims to the unspeakable brutality of their brothers in Islam? If unnecessary deaths are your concern why you are not protesting Mayor Street’s office … Philadelphia has become the murder capital of the country under his watch?
I will add just one more question for folks to ponder … it’s post-9/11, we have been attacked, every intelligence agency in the world tells Bush that Saddam has WMD and he wants to give them to terrorists to use against us ... he has a history of attacking neighbors and his own people with WMD. He has already threatened to kill the president of the United States, Bush does nothing and al-Qaida unleashes a WMD attack in multiple U.S. cities killing hundreds of thousands (the WMD comes from Iraq) ... how do you think liberals would treat his lack of action in the face of the worldwide intelligence he was being given? I’m sure they would be very understanding.
Much thanks to all who showed support for a victory in Iraq that weekend … it was indeed a refreshing demonstration in real support of the troops."
