The affected villages were Kyassenyi, Nakalinzi, Bwangannyondo and Kawundiro in Lwengo sub-counties. The September 29 storm also hit Ndagwe sub-county. Vincent Kasule, the LCI chairman for Kyassenya village, said most banana, cassava, sweet potato, beans and maize gardens were destroyed. "The rains washed away the crops we planted and destroyed the banana plantations. We can plant more if the Government gives us seeds." he said on Saturday, adding that the locals needed to grow fast-maturing food crops. Part of Jjaga Primary School was also damaged although no pupil was hurt. Kasule urged the area MP, Isaac Sejjoba, to forward their plight to the disaster preparedness ministry. Sejjoba, who was touring his constituency, advised the locals to prepare for possible floods. )
