What Do Taxes Pay For, and Why Do They Exist?
Of course, the war is now payment number one.

but...The GOP freaks are talking about the same old keep taxes lower.

Taxes pay for:

women and men trying to raise families when in poverty and trying to gain an education.

road and bridge reconstruction.

medical needs for those who otherwise can't pay the extravagant costs.

I detest, and am sick to near death, hearing about taxes and wealth.

What the hell else do taxes pay for?

The repukes are trying to privatize everything, and that will lead to a third world society. They are nuts.

rant over for now. I can't believe I'm watching a GOP debate. arrrrrggghh.

1. Taxes have outlived their usefulness
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 08:13 PM by Taverner
Programs are being cut one after another. On the other side, the military budget goes up and up more.

It is getting to the point where I ask what the fuck my country does for me ?

3. Simply put, it is two schools of thought. OK, "thought" might be a bit strong.
Repubs and wingnuts: If it's free, it's for me.

Democrats and other rational people: If you play, you pay.

5. They pay off the debt to the federal reserve.
All the federal reserve money is loaned to the US at prime rate and we have to pay it back. (Federal reserve is a private enterprise and not part of the government). Whats left over goes to the US budget.

6. This Business Debates indicates they are totally out of touch
and are not aware of what is going on in this country.

Republicans" message are to people who individually make at
least 75 thousand dollars a year.

If one makes over 75,000 a year, their messages make sense.

Huckabee is the only one who gives the impression that he
really understands what is going on in this country.

Their first responsiblity is to business.
