I actually turned the Daily Show off when the interview started. I can not stand that woman.

Jon firmly corrected one of her lies/talking points, much to the enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Couldn't bring myself to watch the smarmy witch. I turned the volume down and put on the CC to kinds keep up with what was being said. I just couldn't bear to hear her voice.

Compare her appearance with, for one example, Kerry saying that US forces kick in Iraqi doors in the middle of the night like terrorists--THAT was siezed upon by their noise machine and was mentioned on the news for several days. Lynne's disturbing airing of the inner workings of the *cough* second most powerful couple in the world gets zero, no, nada, none attention.

I am glad Jon made her talk about lesbian/gay marriage. She had to fess up that she did not support an amendment to deny gays the right to marry.

The next question would have been - then how can you actively support a party that strives to deny a group of Americans a right that other groups have?

An article reliving the author's (a NY'er) experience moving to LA. She said that in NY people avoid making eye contact with each other on the sidewalk. In LA, the home of plastic surgery fake tans, people regulary eye each other on the sidewalk, check each other out, etc. Almost like a catwalk.

Stewart was decent. Interviewing usually is not his good point so he made the most of it. Both knew that at least it was going to be short.

I still think that both have it relatively easy that it is their daughter not a son (which, of course, they don't have) who is gay. I think that even the most extremists tolerate lesbian but not homosexuals. Why? Because only the latter is mentioned in the bible.

The Cheneys are war criminals and profiteers. Period.

They are writing the history as we speak. They have learned that getting a story out first not only sets the agenda/parameters but is generally followed by the pack of journalists as THE story or is responded to or is mentioned you know so you look considerate.

At least Mika had the spine to ask her a couple of real questions. The rest of the "interview" was just her telling everyone how wonderful Wyoming was during the 40's and 50's. She said that about a dozen times. The republicans really do long for the days of overt racism, McCarthyism, high teen pregnancy rates and nanny-Colleges. Sheesh.

Oh, and she used the exact same line - verbatim - about America not being attacked again since 9/11. Obviously that was intended to be a defining theme.
