Bill Bennett: why didn't they give Reagan a Nobel Peace Prize?
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 06:14 AM by Enrique
that's his pathetic spin on the hard news (from his point of view), this morning on his radio program.

He's playing clips of Reagan to make his case.

I'm finding it enjoyable, in a perverse way. :-)

edit: I just emailed him and suggested he start his own Peace Prize. He could hold the ceremony at Caesar's Palace. Don Rickles could emcee. I'll post his answer as soon as I get it, I'm expecting it shortly. :-)

52. Reagan and Bennet live in a Bizarro world where meanspirited idiots appear kind
and kind people appear as meanspirited.

Ghod Mr. Bennet has gambled too much and has lost his grip on reality.

We have a monument to Reagan and it appears near the white house and garbage men empty it every day. ( The White House dumpster. )

9. I'm torn
I don't know whether it would be for providing military aid to both sides in the Iran-Iraq war, the bloodiest war of the 1980's, or for supporting the death squads in Central America.

20. I vote for making payola off of arming both sides in a war. Tis a peacemakers
role to arm both sides until they annihilate each other entirely. Then claim that thereby you fostered peace and stability in the world.

14. Bill Bennett and the republicans are crying in their beer
Reagan did not get a Nobel Prize because he was a dumb hack actor set up to be president. Reagan said the lines and made the moves. He didn't have the intelligence to win a Nobel Prize.

It is the same with little george bush. He is just a drunk front man for the republicans who run the show from the back room. People who are the brains behind republican policy do not show their faces in public.

Could his lack of a Nobel Prize have anything to do with the legacy of terrorist atrocities in Latin America?

Or perhaps one of the other wars of aggression launched by Rayguy?

Or perhaps his Iran/ Contra "problem"?

In fact they did just the opposite, they dealt in war. Duh!

This ongoing attempt to deify Reagan is getting old. Reagan doesn't deserve it, and I'm tired of neocons trying to shove it down my throat.

Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 06:27 AM by NI4NI
Especially since his Iran/Contra affair, his building up and erecting a nuclear arsenal in Europe aimed at he U.S.S.R, and his refusal to help fight the rising AIDS epidemic were all lock cinch qualifiers.

On a personal note, being how I was a long time union steelworker at the time, I would have voted for Reagan for all the peace he brought into my life by allowing the importation of all the cheap foreign steel that caused the closing down of the Delaware plant I worked in for 20 years, along with most of the mills in Pittsburgh.

Go Fuck Yourself, Bill!

If I remember correctly the speed limits went back up under Reagan. Use more fuel: create more greenhouse gases. Al Gore won his Nobel Peace Prize trying to fix the problem that Reagan helped create.

there's no reason for them to see Gore as an enemy. Gore after all conceded the 2000 race in the nation's interest.

You'd think they could muster up a similar patriotic spirit. Actually you wouldn't think that.

Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 06:46 AM by Hubert Flottz
I ate so much Reagan Cheeze do to a total lack of work, when that bastid was in the white house, that I had to wear a screen over my ass to keep the rats out. Do they even give Nobel Prizes for union busting and exporting entire industries like the American steel industry? Do they give Nobel Prizes for closing down all the insane asylums and turning the inmates out in the streets to live under bridges? Do they give Nobel Prizes for fucking up Social Security, something that you forcibly paid into all your working life, to the point that you need to hire a lawyer to fill out your papers for you and then you still get cheated out of it, as you lay gasping for your last breath?

I'll vote for a Reagan "Totally And Grossly Overrated Dick-Head Award" and nothing more.
