3. What He Says Has Caused A Lot Of Controversy
But it seems to me no matter how messed up the larger society is, all of us should try to be the best people we can be... I think the criticism of Cosby comes from folks who believe he's letting society off the hook...He really isn't...

4. The criticism of Cosby comes from folks
who believe in zero personal responsibility. So, he advocates education -- in whatever form, whether it be college, apprenticeships, trade schools, whatever. He talks about overcoming adversity. What the HELL is so wrong about that? Honest to goddess the uproar out of some people about how he's out of touch (he grew up poor) and is too old to take seriously (ageism -- one of the very few bigoted states still allowed in this country, and especially on DU).

5. I Rather Discuss This Than The Stupid Political Horse Race Which I Reluctantly Get Dragged Into
I think the criticism comes from folks who think he's excusing the structural racism that still exists... He is doing no such thing...He is suggesting the fight against racism and the quest of African American or any American self improvement are not mutually exclusive...

Probity, responsibility, sobriety, the desire to improve one's station in life, etcetera are not the white man's dominion... These are universal norms all humans should aspire to...

2. Excellent show
Russett needs to do more of these type shows and not give so much face time to the politicians and administration, tired of all the lies!Todays show was a great awakening for us in this country , I hope it was viewed by millions! Cosby is brilliant.
