1. EPA, so he could focus on what he's dedicated his life on.
There's way too many babys (and asses) to kiss in the other job.

4. I trust Al Gore's instincts to pursue whatever he wants to pursue.
While strictly speaking not a Gore Democrat, I have an abiding respect for the man and acknowledge his stature and contribution.

If he becomes the nominee I'll vote for him; is he were named EPA chief, that's also great.

It's all good with Al Gore.

6. Neither. He's doing fine as-is
I don't want him constrained by government service.

16. yah. yah.
If he'd been made president in 2000 then he'd have to deal with wars and politics and wouldn't have been able to do all he's done and get so many people's attention.

Novel concept I know.

9. The question was "Would you rather see Al Gore...," not "Let's make Al Gore..."
How about let's read the question carefully. Novel concept I know.

11. Then you should insert the "neither " option
Edited on Sun Oct-14-07 11:10 AM by RestoreGore
For those of us who happen to think that he should be seen as he wishes to be seen.

Ok, on edit I see you have other. ;-)

Why would he want that?

10. Epa Adm is insulting. He can do and have world wide
impact where he is.

12. if he does not become President
there is no government-functionary job appropriate for him. He is too broadly knowledgeable and skilled to be pigeon-holed.

His accomplishments on the climate crisis, impressive as they are, speak not just to commitment on that topic but to incredible capabilities to tackle enormous problems and draw on the leading experts around the world, and interact constructively with world leaders.

EPA Administrator indeed! That is a backhanded attempt to marginalize and pigeonhole him. No, if he does not run, I want him heading up whatever NGO he chooses to create, coming up with think tanks and initiatives to help address The Assault on Reason, to take back America. I want him keeping the presidents feet to the fire, not working for him/her.

13. President.
EPA Admin is a bureaucratic job, consisting of (at best) enforcing existing legislation & maybe gently agitating for new stuff. No "bully pulpit."

20. Gore, like Clinton, would appoint competent people instead of idiots
to carry out jobs like EPA administrator and the head of FEMA. We've grown so used to cronyism we can hardly remember what that's like.

Why would you want to Gore to be a bureaucrat? Do you honestly think the best use of his talents would be pushing papers around?

24. Bullshit poll
Either you like him better than the current candidates or you don't. If you like him, you'd say president, obviously. "EPA admin" is the cop-out answer in lieu of "I prefer _______ (name current candidate)."
