Make Al Gore number 44! He's the only one that rhymes!
... literally as well as figuratively with this position!

None of the others do, literally or figuratively, Republican or Democrat!

9. ouch . . . that hurt . . .
been in mourning for 24 hours . . . finally decided to come out . . . . just hoping to see a firing of Calahan or Pedersen (the AD) or Cosgrove (the DC). . . .

These kids deserve some coaches that care . . . Can't put off onto the players this time . . . the players just do not want to play for this group of coaches . . . not sure why . . .

10. Oh, sorry again man! I hadn't even seen the Husker score from yesterday...
I was referring more to the Hawkeyes' season which has been pretty miserable until yesterday. Looks like there were a lot of upsets yesterday, and Michigan and Notre Dame are also both going through some pretty unprecedentedly bad seasons too this year. Visiting in Oregon here this weekend where I'm guessing the locals at the two schools are feeling pretty good though with a couple of good wins yesterday.

19. wow - after posting yesterday that I would like to see Steve Pedersen fired
Guess what was announced a bit ago - this jerk of a AD has been fired.

I would venture a guess that a few of bigger contributors got to the President and insisted he be let go.

A guess - Tom Osborne takes over as AD temporarily. Sure would like to see that.

20. I guess that would be kind of like Dan Gable being brought back...

... as an assistant coach to help the newer wrestling coach rebuild Iowa's wrestling program too. Makes sense.

Well, I guess i've succeeded in having both of us hijacking my own thread! :) And I think Osborne and Gable are both Republicans too!

13. You could always use Popeye's theme song for him
Who's willing to take a stand?
It's Dennis the Congressman.
So vote for Kucinich
'Cause he eats his spinach
And won't go to war with Iran.
