1. :spray:
It's a toss-up over which program has the highest average IQ, too.

Well, not really, but I was trying to throw Faloofah Master a bone.

2. I just can't believe there are that many people who would listen to the guy.
Anyway, these ratings are all the sweeter given that O'Reilly is convinced that Spongebob is gay. Fine, Bill. A gay sponge. Whatever you say.

I suppose a loofah is a form of sponge.

5. Millions of televisions are pre-tuned to Fox News.
My bank has TVs set to CNN, so does McDonalds. Kind of weird. But anyway...

When I've been to nursing homes, other banks, and other similar places, Fox News is always on.

Ratings is the biggest bunch of crap ever. I'll never be polled because I have a cell phone. I'll never have the shows I watch show up with good ratings because I'm never going to put a box on my TV that tells them what I'm watching.

If there were a way to count actual watchers, ALL ratings would be lower. But I'll bet Spongebob's viewership is a lot closer to their reported number than Fox's.

7. It can be hard to find peace and quiet some times.
If I'm waiting in line for something, I don't need to have CNN/Fox babbling about something useless. Just go back to playing classical music, or even Musak if you have to. :-)

18. My BMW dealer had FuxNews on. I changed the channel
...to Comedy Central. Amazing the crowd I drew once an old SNL repeat was being shown instead of Loosie Doocy.:D

It did piss off a salesman, but I'm the customer, so fuck him.

27. The dealer probably expects Bimmer owners to be Faux lovers
Go to another dealer if possible. Is BMW a Faux advertiser?

33. Don't know about advertizing
but the dealer I go to has the remote on the coffee table, so anyone can watch what they want on the cable lineup. I think it was just the salesman (who didn't sell me my car) who chose Fux News. It seems Fux Fans like to push their bullshit channel on everybody else.:puke: The guy at the parts desk, just rolled his eyes when I asked "What is that POS channel doing on." ..."Who knows. Fox sucks. Change it." The Mercedes side doesn't even have thier TV on.

There's wingnut jokes about Bimmer owners being "Limo-Liberals", so I doubt there's an idealogical demographic with BMW ownership. Dodge Hemi Duelie big ass trucks on the other hand.;)

29. Jay Wolfe Honda (and the other Jay Wolfe dealers) in the Kansas City area are Faux advertisers
They won't be getting any business from me (not even an oil change).

I changed the channel at the hospital.

4. Well, SBSP is about twice as intelligent, twice as clever and a billion times more fun to watch.
Seriously, Spongebob is to today as Ren & Stimpy was to 15 years ago.

20. Spongebob also has more marketing appeal.
Really, would you want to buy anything with O'Reilly's picture on it? Maybe a dart board, but that's about it.

8. It's a simple contest of sincerity.
Which is greedy, greasy, paranoid, corrupt, duplicitous and angry?

Which one would have you reaching for the Purell after a handshake?

17. Number, Numbers, Numbers
First...that 2.5 million are people who "tune in" during a show...it could be on passing from one channel to another, or many who are just curious what stupid shit comes out of his piehole. Cume is like people walking past your store window...it doesn't mean how many come in. Those are the numbers that matter and rarely do Faux or O'Reilly dare put the true quarter hour numbers or time spent watching as those numbers would be embarassing.

What this graph really shows is how small the "faux" universe really is. Not only does Spongebob kick BillO's ass, but so do shows on ESPN, MTV and a dozen other cable channel. Even more...those 2.5 million represent a small fraction of the American public...including the voting public. The average network newscast still draws 10 times that number of viewers...and there are local newscasts in New York or Los Angeles that will outdraw O'Reilly's numbers. But these numbers are compared against other cable news channels (which generally are just as inance or rancid as Faux) and somehow this makes them a big time network.
