6. Why? There would have been no time to 'change' votes and the result would have been
identical to the vote. I can't recall any override votes coming immediately after a veto.

5. I just do not understand why this just did not fly through.
Oh well govt. health is coming it is just how long it takes. You know some thing like this must have been going on when I was a child. I was born in early 30's. In a very small way I would say but stuff was done in grade school as I recall. We were a lucky family as my family could pay for doctor/dentist but I do recall the state coming in and doing things. This must have been during the depression as it was still on. Maine is not a rich state but I recall the quick check-ups we had at school some of it was, eyes looked at, small pox checked on and TB tests done. Frankly I think we have to get the ins. co. out of health care any how. That is where a lot of the money seems to go from what I see. Peoples health as a profit making thing is just asking for a badly set up system.

7. If Dems were smart...
they would know that we need this override more than anything else in this country right now. For many reasons-- incentive, morale, oversight....to name the obvious.

I really think that our congressmen and women do not understand some of the basic issues. More and more there will be absolutely NO excuse for this. Especially with the netroots and vast amount of information available to each and every one of them on the internets.

I for one am going to demand that every government official elected by the people and for the people take a required course before reporting to his/her desk on what exactly the Constitution of the United States requires of each of them.

Early morning mini-rant! yawn.

 :dem:
