I just don't understand...
What was Larry Craig looking for, or at...as he gazed for about two minutes, through the half inch crack between that crapper door and the front of that stall?

1. And why doesn't Matt Lauer know what "cruising" means?
these are some of life's philosophical questions..

2. He knows.
It's his way of distancing himself from any questions concerning himself. Very common defense strategy.

how depressingly far we've fallen from the ranks of Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite..

OK that doesn't explain the looking through the crack part but I think I'm right about his looking for Ginger.

Been fishing?

13. He was looking for nub in all the wrong places!
Larry is a Crack Head! It's my new term for GOPers who stare through stinky Cracks In The Head!

Not only is the entire country unsafe from terra under the GOPer's "watch"...but you can't even feel at ease when you sit down to download in a public crapper.

Been fishing here behind the house and the smallish bass are starting to hit top-water lures good in the early AM and right before dark. The cool weather is a month behind schedule. Haven't caught any big bass or raised any musky so far. Summersville should be getting good soon, but I haven't made it up there yet.

18. My old stomping ground (sigh)
I was never much of a fisherman and the only parachute jumping I ever did was to prove that, although I was scared quiveringly shitless, I could do it.
I don't even like to stand near the fence at Hawk's Nest--makes me very uncomfortable. Must have been killed in a fall in a previous life, I suppose.

I grew up on Tick Ridge--on the border of Kanawha and Lincoln counties--and did a lot of flying over the whole area. Worked in Charleston and all over for a number of years.

Unfortunately, I became a W. Va. ex-pat in 1974 and have lived elsewhere ever since.
I could write a whole book...although it might not get a lot of readers.

20. I helped build the New River Gorge Bridge and...
I'll be damned if I'd EVER jump off of that old rusty thing! I'll bet some of my fingerprints are still embedded in the steel up there 'cause I always had a tight grip on that baby. One hand for me to hang on with and one to weld for old hateful American Bridge with...that was the way it was!

I live just a few miles from the Lincoln county line in southwestern Kanawha county. I'd probably read your book, because I read a lot of stuff written by local writers. Got any good road kill recipes?(Just Kidding!1!1!1!!11)

If you live near the line, that must be Ruth, maybe? Davis creek?

I have gone back a number of times to see family and with all the interstate building and all the new settlements, I'm kind of glad I'm not there to see it happen.

We used to go just across the Coal river bridge and turn left up the river.
Up river a bit were the two best swimming places on the river. There was a dam that we had to repair every spring and a rope trapeze to swing from. Just down the river from the dam was a small beach but the swimming wasn't as good.

There was one place above there where the swimming wasn't quite so good, with high banks and not much parking along the road. It was harder to get down to the river but it was a little more private.

Heading toward Lincoln county, on old rt 14, just before you cross the old bridge and to the right of the bridge is a path down to the river. That's where we used to hold baptizings. We went to Harper Freewill Baptist church.
As a teenager, I used to work with my dad a lot over around Yawkey. We did quite a bit of landscaping and such around there.

Most of them I haven't seen in many years, but I know a bunch of people around the area.

Oh, the memories, the memories! I might cry.

I'm on down the river from your swimming hole. Down towards Tornado. I drove through Yawkey a couple of weeks ago on my way to the lake on Mud river, over near Hamlin. The Big Coal is really cleaned up nice now and they stock the upper end above Whitesville with trout.

Somebody else will come forward and let the cat out of the bag on Craig's past sexual dalliances, IMHO. I believe Craig is lying through his teeth. Why would the man peek at another man in the shitter for 2 minutes? Nobody ever did that to me and if they did, I'd think it was pretty freakin' strange!

Larry likes the romantic little things he reads in the crapper maybe...maybe he was looking in the other guy's stall just to see those romantic words of wit.

"FOR A GOOD TIME CALL THE SWINGING GOPer SENATORS AT BR549!"

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS YOU ARE PISSING ON YOUR FOOT!"

I think that he thought the story would just go away once he admitted his guilt and paid the fine.

Somebody as full of shit as Larry needs to stay in the crapper 24/7!

Edit...he wouldn't be a "Good Republican" if he wasn't a good liar!
