Poll question: This criminal administration has issued paper that could suspend voting in an "emergency".
suspend rights, confiscate property, detain citizens, etc.

Have you considered these possibilities?

1. Considered it? I pretty much expect it to happen.
* wants to be like his buddy Putin and stay in power indefinitely. I can't see Darth Cheney going quietly into the dark night either.

2. Agree with you 100%
Why put such things into law if you
don't intend to use them.

I'm counting on it.

7. Remember when Bush was eyegazing with Pootie?
He looked deep into those limpid brown eyes and saw another psychopath, and immediately recognized Pootie as one of his own.

8. That's what I'm talking about...
* looked into his soul or something and saw that Putin had a good heart. Should have called for the white coats then.

4. If that happens and Americans do not take to the streets en masse
in every city, town and countryside then I am out of here. The only thing that gives me hope that it will not happen is that I truly sense that Bush is ready for this to be over.

5. Have you noticed how much more often they are talking about martial law?
I've seen it several times on the political discussions of activities of the day...CNN, MSNBC for example. Easing us into it?

12. I think the so-called private military companies, the mercenaries would be used
as well as paramilitaries and extra-legals, all locals "authorized" by DHS-kinda like Blackwater et. al. during Katrina...

6. How does a President suspend elections?
The federal government doesn't run any elections.

9. Declare martial law. Activate emergency powers.
Declare that elections are to be suspended. No, the Feds don't run the elections, but they can cdertainly tell the states not to.

11. well
a number of people here seem to find something comforting about coming up with ridiculous dystopican scenarios.

But we'll have elections next year, and a new President in 2009.

14. PATRIOT ACT, Model Emergency Health Powers Act, National Security Presidential Directive 51, etc.
think what you want-all of these "papers" that have come from this criminal administration allow for the possibilities I raised...

I'm glad to be ridiculed, anytime, for being a realist about this criminal administration.

13. You do recall the 9/11 was an election day in NYC
and the election was postponed? A city the size on NYC - bigger than some states - could change the outcome of an election.

19.  I'm with you
I've been expecting this to happen for some time . I can't imagine these neocons giving up after all their planning and all that's happened in the last 7 years . There are alot more reasons why i feel this is likely to happen .

26.  Oh , I agree with impeachment
What really worry about now is if they can't even pass the S-CHIP or anything else for that matter then how well will impeachment go .

I was hoping Stark speaking the truth would get others on board but then Pelosi wants him to apologise .

At least get impeachment on the table and go through the motions , at least but now I can't see that happening .

They are still dancing around the victims of Katrina and what we got was some lame min wage increase .

Sometimes I feel if they ever try to impeach this may force these freaks to begin another war sooner .

23. If Martial Law was to ever be enacted upon the US
I believe the circumstances that would have led to that happening would be of greater concern to us than the martial law itself.

The President, either Democrat or Republican, just can't suspend elections on a whim, it's part of our Constitution. The only way something would happen is if a horrific event were to happen where a large majority of American's might be prevented in some way from voting.

Regardless, I think many people are getting worked up over nothing.

27.  I wouldn't say people are worked up over nothing
This is a great possibility especially at this point in time with the constitution shreaded and all the crimes gotten away with by these freaks . I would put nothing past them , nothing .
