Awww nuts
I'm in Castaic and we're under voluntary evacuation here because of the fires. The two girls are home from school and the wife is going nuts. Me? I'm staying in bed.

2. Hope everything stays Ok for you.
I live in Riverside, no fires here but can smell the smoke from the one in the mountains. I hate the Santa Ana winds.

Good Luck

3. So, instead of comforting your wife and kids and helping to pack some essential stuff
you are staying in bed?

Good luck!

4. Good old DU
Can always find someone to complain no matter what you do

I bought them in this morning and told them (from the bed) that the fire would have to go through an industrial center and about a quarter mile of homes to get to us. We had no brush around us at all. Our roof is tile, and it's not likely to come close enough to be dangerous.

I am not packing any essential stuff. It's not going to get to us.

My wife asked me to stay home. I did. She would be even more worried if I went to work.

6. Well, after reading that 250,000 people have been evacuated because of the fires
your attitude seemed a bit nonchalant.

However, if you are absolutely certain that the fire won't get your house, staying in bed to avoid the whole evacuation gridlock sounds like a good plan.

5. Time to get your ass out of bed and put essential items in the car.
Do it NOW.

You might not need to evacuate, but if you do need to, it's better to have some stuff than NOTHING.
