And my skin has never looked anything remotely like that, thank God. There's a lot of sun damage there, though, and I think his nose is freshly sunburned. In men, rosacea tends to thicken the skin on the nose and make it bulbous. I don't see that there. Is that a bruise under one of his eyes? It looks almost like his glasses/sunglasses left it.

Capillaries under the skin break open and you get that. Other conditions can do the same thing, but considering his history and his obstinate and obdurate behavior, a resumption of alcohol abuse cannot be ruled out. Helen Thomas said that the word was that he had started up again a while back.

35. You're right. Broken capillaries on the nose and across the upper cheeks are symptomatic
of a long time drinker. (There's another thread up that has the same picture).

Rosacea, OTOH, usually affects the entire face and is not usually limited to the nose and upper cheeks.

My ex, a practicing drunk, started to look like that before he gave up drinking. The body simply can't process all of the booze he's putting into it, and it shows up on his face. That rosy look, with the underlying yellow tint. Our "president" has never stopped drinking, mark my words. He wouldn't look like that, if he had. The "look" does go away, after a year or so, if you quit drinking.

He wasn't as forceful in the request. I was as if he hated the idea of getting up there and announcing they'd need more money for the war (or the next war). Maybe it was booze, but it was a depressant of some kind.

I saw a snippet on television of him talking yesterday and it was a disturbing experience. If his fellow Republicans had any sense of duty to their country, they would make an honest assessment of his fitness to serve.
