Oral Roberts says devil won't steal ORU

TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts returned to his namesake university Monday and denied the lurid accusations that have threatened to engulf the school, telling students and employees in a chapel service that "the devil is not going to steal ORU."

Making his first visit to Oral Roberts University in three years, Roberts said at the service that his son Richard Roberts, who took a leave of absence as the school's president last week, eventually will return to his position, the Tulsa World reported.

Three former professors sued the university Oct. 2 for wrongful termination, claiming they were dismissed after they turned over to the board of regents a copy of a report documenting moral and ethical lapses on the part of Richard Roberts and his family.

Oral Roberts, 89, said in the chapel service that he has moved back to Tulsa from California, where he has lived for several years. The crowd gave him standing ovations.

but if it becomes proof positive that his son is found guilty, and the proof is all there, will he still consider it the devil stealing?
I always wonder about these big time ministers. They are suppose to preach truth, and if not they go to hell, by their beliefs.

When it was first erected, the hands were actually splayed outward. Imagine holding your wrists together and parting your hands as far as they can from each other.

When Oral Roberts saw it, he called for the sculptor to come to him and go over his contract, which specifically said that the hands were to be "praying".

When the sculptor arrived, they went to the hands, and Oral really chastised him for such an error. The sculptor then took a dollar out of his wallet and threw it between the hands, and they immediately clasped together and remain so to this day.
