Bush unapologetic over CIA leak

Tape of Bush Joking about WMD's At White House Correspondents' Dinner

Bush dismisses bloodshed in Iraq as ‘just a comma’

Apologies reserved for Democrats only:

“I want to apologize to my colleagues — many of whom I have offended — to the president and his family and to the troops,” Stark said. He added that he hoped the apology would allow him to “become as insignificant as I should be” as the House moves forward on critical, divisive issues. Stark then left the podium, wiping away tears as Democratic colleagues surrounded him with supportive handshakes.

If the Democrats really don't want to offend Bush, flatter him by emulating him: They should have "expressed no regrets" and "move on.

1. Nah, Pelosi won't condemn him.
After all, he's a Republican.

4. Measure to censure Stark by John "Small Price" Boehner fails
House bid to censure Stark falls short:

Without debate, the House voted 196-173 to kill the proposal to censure Stark for "his despicable conduct." The vote was mostly along party lines, with all 168 Republicans on hand supporting the measure offered by Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. Five Democrats joined them.

Small price.

5. Why would we possibly want to emulate the nasty majority GOP leader?
I want a return of civility to DC, and am glad that Stark apologized, because it was the right thing to do.

6. It was unnecessary!
The right thing to do is to try to get more support for SCHIP.

The right thing to do is to not pass a bad FISA bill.

The right thing to do is to "Stopping Hitting Yourself" over silliness and allowing the Republicans to make a mockery of the entire process while playing obstructionists.

9. But they made him apologize so they still "won".
Instead of Stark's fellow dems rallying behind him and saying. "hey he's a grown up, and though he said something WE may not have said, we stand by his RIGHT to say it....just like YOU all did when republicans said despicable slanderous things ..for mor than a decade now"..things much worse..for over a decade"

7. Why not censure this pompous ass over these comments?
Stark's words, again, hold a lot of power. "become as insignificant as I should be" - I guess he has learned his place from the powers that be in our party, eh?

But we won't censure anyone in the G.O.P., hell, we hold investigations and then end up apologizing for holding them.
