Yet another victory for the republican noise machine
The party of faux outrage nailed another pelt to its' wall today, undoubtedly with help from "our" leadership. Rep. Stark backed off his truthful comments of last week and apologized to bush. Once again the republics and their allies in the media have succeeded in smacking down someone who has the audacity to point out the inconvenient truth that our nation is run by a delusional megalomaniac. Once again The Democratic Party has shown the back of its hand to people like you and me who want to end this war and are tired of "our" leadership accommodating the republic war criminals in Congress. They view us as a nuisance. How dare we question their tactics? They figure at the end of the day we will support them at the ballot box. What are we going to do vote for republics? Oh, and by the way they would like us to send them some of our hard earned money so they can keep their cushy jobs with all the perks and continue the bang up job they are doing.

1. I know this won't be popular . . .
but, it's about decorum.

I am as frustrated with Bush as the next person. I hate, hate, HATE this war and what it has done to our reputation in the world, and how the cost has deprived needy people here at home of some of the basics of life. I hate that we have a generation of maimed and dead for no reason.

But--our representatives can't voice every schoolyard taunt that may enter their heads. Stark may have been speaking out of frustration. But as a U.S. Representative he was out of line to make the remark about heads being blown off for Bush's amusement (or however he phrased it.)

It's possible to speak against the war without stooping to such an immature level.

2. I notice Bush, Cheney and the Pubs are all about "decorum" 24/7
The time to play nice should be long past. The Neofascists are out to kill our democracy...we need to fight back at some point or all declare ourselves "Good Germans"

3. No, it's not about decorum, it's about the dominance hierarchy.

I'll believe it's about decorum when Dick Cheney apologizes to Sen. Leahy for telling him to go fuck himself.
