6. Tit for tat macho talk until it all goes boom.
The Iranians were with us, it seems, through the invasion of Afghanistan, until "Axis of Evil". It's been down hill ever since.

I don't see how it can be defused, now. Our only hope is for it to hold together, however slightly until we get a sane president. We have 15 long, tense months ahead.

7. I loved watching Frontline tonight because...
it gave clear and unmistakable evidence that the Bush Regime is undoubtably completely devoid of any understanding of how to conduct foreign policy in the Middle East. After the US with the help of Iran attacked the terrorists in Afganistan, the Iranian Reform Party offered the US a chance to negotiate incredible advances in policies. Iranians had actually stopped shouting "Death to Americans". What happened? Our brilliant leader decided to include them in his "axis of evil" club. Thus, the Iranian Reform party was humiliated in front of their country for extending their hand in friendship and President Ahmadinejad was blessed into power. It is like they put ZERO thought at this most important juncture. Unfortunately, the Shrub only believes in a show FORCE, probably because he's trying to compensate for something. Too bad he never paid attention in Sunday school and understood the words of the most influential liberal that has ever walked the earth and whom he professes to follow so closely..."those who live by the sword, die by the sword." -JC
