McCain touts his experience
By HOLLY RAMER, Associated Press Writer
Tue Oct 23, 4:05 PM ET

CONCORD, N.H. - Sen. John McCain on Tuesday touted his experience in Congress dealing with national security compared to the experience of Republican presidential rivals Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney.

"I think it's great to have been mayor of a big city. I think it's great to have been governor of a state," McCain said. "I think it's important that I've been part of every national security issue since 1980 ... That's really what's at stake."

McCain visited the Thompson/Center Arms, a hunting rifle manufacturer in Rochester, N.H., and joked with employees that he'd like to take homeland security into his own hands and use one of their guns.

"I will follow Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell and I will shoot him with one of your products," McCain said to applause and laughter. He used the line about bin Laden at a GOP debate in May.

Later to reporters, McCain emphasized he was joking about personally assassinating bin Laden.

What's up with right-wingers "joking" about killing?

8. This is so sad really.
Were it not for the bush cabal tinkering with his campaign in '00 McCain might actually be sitting in the White House right now. Now he's just a cartoon character. He had his chance but the gop wanted a puppet. It's over John. Go Home.

the Senator grunted and adjusted the blanket on his lap, stared dreamily into the fire, and fell back to sleep and dreams of foregone battles....

11. Goofy old men who talk like swaggering adolescents don't make good presidents.
See Ronald Reagan and the present fratboy infesting the White House for precedents.

18. Why does he think Osama is going to hell?
Furthermore, if he's going to hell wouldn't he'd already be dead so shooting him would be a moot point.
