Is it a mistake to think of them as incompetent fools?
Part of me thinks that they are more malevolent and indifferent than incompetent.
Here is a great Jim Holt article on Iraq
http://www.lrb.co.uk/v29/n20/holt01_.htmlIn it he points out, just as Mike Malloy sometimes does that Iraq is not a failure, but a resounding success for Bush and Cheney. Who cares if brown people or a few poor US soldiers get blown up in the process....
I kind of agree. AND I deplore the lack of discussion on how profiteering is fueling the death machine in Iraq. This is not about troop withdrawal or not: this is about removing the vampires that are profiting at our expense and that of the Iraqi people who are deprived of jobs, resources, and life.
Wake up, everyone...stop using their language ("war on terror", "Al Qaeda in Iraq", "Iraq war", "Iranian threat", etc.) and realize that all these missing billions are ours, and that all these murders are committed in our name.
Argh...I'm emailing Nancy, Dianne, and my representative right now. It's not much but when a nation goes to sleep, speaking up becomes the first revolutionary act!
