The problem with bombing Iran....
any bombing operation on Iranian sites is going to have to be deep and involved.

That means before the main target of the bombing, i.e. potential nuclear weapons sites (which the IAEA has confirmed that there are no nuclear weapons capabilities for years in Iran)...Radar sites, SAM sites, airfields where Iranian aircraft are harbored, Command and Control facilites would all have to be bombed to clear the path for the main bombing thrust.

What happens now after the smoke has cleared on day 2?

You've bombed the perceived Iranian threat that never existed.

You've just given the extremist elements in Iran a propaganda victory they could never have pulled off on their own.

You've just rallied the Iranian people around their gov't.

1. And you've pissed off Russia, China, and probably most other nations..
in the world! If the US bombs Iran that will be the end of the US and probably the world population as we know it. There may be a few pockets of people that survive, but the question will then be survive for what?

2. That only applies to Iranian survivors. We're not going to risk . . .

any of our boys and girls prepping for a conventional bombing raid -- which wouldn't take out hardened targets anyway. We'll just nuke 'em 'til they glow.

It's not like they're people or anything. They're the axis of evil, remember?

And what's more fitting than going after potential nuclear weapons with real ones?

7. They strategize having all their world leader dominoes lined up properly,
assuming all the allies will have no choice but to follow suit when the world finds itself on the brink of...well, you heard him, World War Three

8. Kasparov was on Hardball....
he said Putin would not come to the aid of Iran in the event of a US attack....

Kasparov is trying to run for President in Russia and has said that Putin needs high oil prices to stay in power...and ramping up the military tension in the Middle East is in his interest....(as well as some other scumbags we know).

5. And you've likely rallied together about 1 billion Muslims.....
that would then have a common enemy in US. The only way this would end would be with a nuclear exchange somewere that would likely start as our troops were about to be overwhelmed and Bush and the Neocons saw no other option.
