I counted 12 Ron Paul bumper stickers today
and they all seem to be Cowboy's in big pick up trucks. The other day I was in Farmington, New Mexico the Halliburton capital of the mainland when I saw a Ron Paul sticker and next to it he had a sticker that said "9/11 was an inside job." It takes BALLS to drive around with a bumper sticker that says that in Farmington!

Edited on Sun Oct-28-07 10:09 PM by AZDemDist6
except for a couple of Cadillacs that still have the old Bush '04 faded on the bumper

both driven by horrid looking old mean white women, I might add

lots of Richardson stickers around though....

3. There's a Ron Paul fanatic in my apartment complex
they've got the bumper sticker, the sign up on their balcony and they've got literature in the laundry room and occasionally on your door. Ron Paul has a diverse group of supporters, although his backbone is Redneck types that want the government "off their back", whatever that might mean.

10. Ron Paul supporters are weird!
The three I met recently either had real bad teeth (lack of insurance) or smelled bad.

6. At least we can expect those people probably won't vote for someone like
Giuliani. If Ron Paul loses they will probably just stay home or maybe even vote Democrat.

15. If Ron Paul gets cheated out of the Repunk nom....
than those people will be voting independent.

18. You can count on Ron Paul pulling off the same kind of upset Ross Perot would have
had he stayed in the race.

This is going to be fun!

30. That's what I was thinking
The party bosses of the Repugs will just cheat him out of the nod and all these people will just stay home or vote independent. They won't let a non-Imperialist get the nod.

21. Actually, Paul is doing pretty well in New Hampshire.
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 06:31 AM by Tesha
NH has a strong Libertarian/libertarian (Capital-L
and lower-cased-l) streak and Paul's faux Liber-
tarianism has strong appeal up hear. Paul has
quite a few lawn signs out, so even if its only
a handful of nutters from the Free State Project,
they're a dedicated handful of nutters. They
were doing a highway-bridge "honk-and-wave"
just the other day in Nashua.

Oh, he won't finish big, but he'll finish high
enough for the professional political pundit
yammering class to be scratching their asses
heads and wondering "wha' happened??"

12. There are a lot of well placed (and usually handmade) signs around Atlanta.
This is in the most liberal neighborhoods between our house and my office. I don't know about the Republican neighborhoods that ring the city.

There were bunches of sign wavers just outside our biggest Halloween parade last Saturday.

22. I'm traveling from Biloxi to Missouri and I've seen a lot
Ron Paul signs everywhere and they are all homemade, but all very noticeably placed.

It beats all those freakin Haley Barbour signs and stickers in Mississippi. Ick.

13. Ron Paul is one of the only candidates I've seen bumper stickers for
In Austin, I saw a good number of Obama stickers alongside one or two Edwards and Hillary stickers. But on the "R" side, I think Paul may be the only candidate I've seen a sticker for. And driving in East Texas, he seems to be the only candidate I ever see them for. It may have something to do with his being from, roughly, this part of the county, but I have no doubt there are a good number of folks around here who have no problem with his nutty views on quite a number of issues.

14. Of all the Republican candidates, the only bumper stickers I see are Ron Paul ones.
Glad to know I am not the only one. And I am in a moderately conservative area. It's certainly weird to see a multitude of Ron Paul and Obama bumper stickers.

Except for the American genocide in Iraq, which he curiously opposed, he's a reliable fascist back-bencher.

Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 04:26 AM by Marie26
And a ton of "Ron Paul 2008" bumper stickers & signs in yards. In contrast, I don't think I've seen ONE sign/bumper sticker for any of the other Rep. presidential candidates. He's definitely got a real grass-roots movement going in North Carolina.

23. It's amazing the number of Ron Paul supporters who will look like a deer
in headlights when you ask them why they're so eager to give up their social security. They latch on to one thing about this guy - the war, or legalizing drugs - and ignore everything else. I've got a feeling a whole lot of these people thought Shrub was god.

24. I keep saying that there is a libertarian backlash coming,
and it will be aided by the Dems trying to push Republican lite as the flavor of the election. Digging our hole deeper, one neocon coporatist at a time.

25. Third Party Action Ahead
Next March could be quite a fun time. By then the GOOP field will have thinned and those who aren't too happy with their selections will be looking elsewhere. While the corporate media is focused on the "Religious Right"...but watch for Paul to head back to his "Libertarian" Party or "Reform" party or some other third party. He used the GOOP primaries to raise his visibility and cash...getting far more exposure and a nice little kitty for next year's general election in the process.
