BREAKING NEWS

Updated: 19 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - The State Department promised Blackwater USA bodyguards immunity from prosecution in its investigation of last month’s deadly shooting of 17 Iraqi civilians, The Associated Press has learned.

As a result, it will likely be months before the United States can — if ever — bring criminal charges in the case that has infuriated the Iraqi government.

“Once you give immunity, you can’t take it away,” said a senior law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

guess that congressional hearing must have been a dog and pony show for the 'stupid' people, you know, the people who aren't actually 'in' politics.

7. Incredible!
Perhaps Congress had best figure out a way to remove "immunity" given by this administration and/or any of its cabal. In other words, they can do whatever they damned well please and to hell with the law? Geneva Convention? I suppose since they are hired guns, they don't have to go by the law?

9. Why? Do they moonlight as telecom executives?
How does a mere citizen get granted "immunity", unless it's for testimony in a criminal case?

Brain not work right now....

10. 15 people murdered is no joke. If this happend in the USA
there would be a great outrage. Immunity for murder is not acceptable!

11. I definitely agree. And I believe it was 17 people.
My point was that immunity should be given ONLY under the most extreme of situations, where all hope of justice could not succeed.

Sorry for the flippant title of the post, I do realize the gravity of the situation.
