What I just heard: Bush is the best president we have ever had.
"I am firmly convinced that if it weren't for him we would have been attacked again."

This from a govt. employee that was eating breakfast next to me. I almost fell off my chair. Then all my muscles locked up. And I knew that I had better keep my mouth closed because I was going to just lose it.

I guess that is what that 30% who still like him believe.

This same guy told me hated Obama because he was a practicing Muslim. And he refused to put his hand over his heart and refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance. When I said that was just the bullshit out on the internet he said that he just didn't like his name.

11. I figured out this morning why freepers keep saying we hate America.
Because when we talk about America and about our country, we're not talking about the same delusion they're talking about.

In freerville, we have bases all over the world because we are compassionate (honest, someone said this on CSPAN this morning). They believe we are the first to give to other countries in disasters and that we give the most when in reality, we do no such thing. And you know the rest of the list.

So, when we criticize the felon in the White House for getting people dead, they cannot process the information. We're talking about some other America that they don't even recognize because they are so propagandized.

It really must sound to them as though we hate America.

10. I was just too blown away to say anything,.
I never know how to respond to people like that. Nothing I say will do anything except antagonize them. So I just leave most of the time.

I live completely surrounded by these people. And they have a right to their opinions. But it is really upsetting to me.

12. When someone say's..."We haven't been attacked since 9/11."
As an indication of * good job.

I want to scream.

Just how lowered ARE expectations?

How long was it since the previous attacks on America.

Pearl Harbor?

Did Roosevelt attack Switzerland, then pull his pud and play dress-up for six years and say..."Hey! We haven't been attacked again!"

15. Tinfoil-hatter!
what kind of lunatic believes the anthrax attacks were in any way as scary or potentially dangerous to more Americans than the blessed Nine Eleven, which we will celebrate every year as we sing Nine Eleven carols under the Nine Eleven tree?

21. When someone says that, I start clapping my hands.
When asked why I'm clapping my hands, I tell them that I'm trying to keep the tigers away.

The immediate response is, "There aren't any tigers around here!"

To which I respond, "Well, see how well it's working?"

This is a basic illustration and a good lead in to a discussion that the fact that there hasn't been a domestic terror attack since 9/11 (if you don't count anthrax, which the diehard Bush supporters usually don't) and the fact that Bush has been in office since 9/11 are not related. Just because two events exist at the same time does not mean that one event caused the other.

Just like clapping your hands to keep the tigers away and the fact that there are no tigers present. This doesn't mean that one event caused the other.

It makes me want to scream too! :banghead:

14. And you didn't correct this idiot about the Anthrax attacks?
Which, like 9/11, were unavenged by the Dim Son?

I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS bring up the Anthrax attacks, because they expose the lie that were "weren't attacked after 9/11." We were. And our government wants to pretend like it never happened.

16. People Like This Really Exist?
There has been some talk around here about the existence of life from other planets.

The "person" you spoke with is NOT really a human being.

He must be someone from another planet.

He proves the existance of non-intelligent life from other planets.

27. real Republicans believe in a one-party system..
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 11:04 AM by flaminbats
as one Republican told me last weekend "I don't want a Democratic Party as long as my party controls the government!"

these Republicans don't believe in free speech, a free market, or even freedom of religion. They believe in speech for Republicans and listening for Democrats, they believe in unlimited obedience and cash payments from consumers, unquestioned power of copyrights and penalties against all who dare to sell the same product at a lower price, they equate being a free American with being a protestant Christian leader.

Once Republicans hated Communism, they viewed it as Satan's religion on Earth. They considered every liberal Democrat to be nothing more than just another Communist agent against America. America isn't a democracy they tell us, it is a republic. The bill of rights wasn't meant for the people, but for American leaders who must rule over people.

Terrorism, Communism, and liberalism..it's all the same, unpatriotic and dangerous. healthcare isn't a right, neither is life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness. Those are only privileges you can gain with obedience, money, and hypocrisy.

yet some Republican voters actually think this war should be paid for with higher taxes, that Medicare and Social Security are both great for this country, that a one-party system isn't democratic, and that people with medical problems need help from us all..not another kick in the ass from corporate America. but someone needs to tell those Republicans "you're in the wrong party!"
