3. I'm tired of telling them to DO THEIR JOB
dont we do that when we pull the lever on election day? If they dont want to be our representatives, we can change this thing to a strict democracy and vote for every single issue

6. but are you tired of signing petitions and making calls
I am becoming way too jaded. I have signed dozens of petitions telling our reps to do what they ran on in the last election only to see nothing happen. Maybe if something got traction, my faith would be renewed, but I have become a bad constituent.

8. many times i just want to throw in the towel and say 'fuck it'
but i believe in our system and i do believe that the way the system is set up now, once these 'politicians' get in office the only people they hear from on a regular basis are lobbyists trying to buy their votes.....i think they NEED to hear from the citizens who, like it or not, put them in office.

so i'm gonna keep irritating them

12. You think the lobbyists get tired too?
SOMEbody has to tell them to do the right thing...because every day there are wealthy lobbyists telling them to do the wrong thing.

Also it's good to let them know you appreciate it after they do the right thing. Politicians are human like everyone else. They like appreciation. Lobbyists show their appreciation with money and golf trips and hookers and whatnot.

7. Tell Chuck: Do You Want To Tie Your Reputation To Someone Who Will Not Recognize Torture?
ARE you going to vote for someone as AG who knows torture when he sees it and refuses to call it torture -- the highest Law Enforcement Officer in the Country?

Bush may not offer up another nominee any less objectionable, but that is no reason to grant your seal of approval to one clearly acting less than independent of WH control, and who is consciously refusing to acknowledge clear legal grounds for finding waterboarding to be torture.

And he's got to admit to himself that it was a mistake and take it on the chin.

"Schumer, Feinstein back Mukasey
Andrew Zajac

Looks like Michael Mukasey will be the next Attorney General after all, many Democrats' misgivings about his unwillingness to declare waterboarding illegal notwithstanding.

A pair of key Senate Democrats, Diane Feinstein, of California, and Charles Schumer, of New York, announced this afternoon that they'll vote for Mukasey, giving him the votes he needs to win approval of the Judiciary Committee."
