Homeland Security Chairman Thompson Exposes “TSA Cheating”
November 2nd, 2007 by Jesse Lee

From the Homeland Security Committee:

Thompson Exposes TSA Cheating

November 2, 2007 (WASHINGTON) – Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) sent a letter to both Edmund S. (“Kip”) Hawley, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, and Richard L. Skinner, Inspector General, Department of Homeland Security regarding an email sent from TSA to airport security staff and Federal Security Directors which gave notice of impending security testing. A link to both letters (with the email attached) is below.

Letters (.pdf) at link~

As Chairman Thompson notes in the letters, if the email were sent during the testing period that the TSA reported on, it may have “compromised” that report. See the email below:

3. My girlfriend and I went thru JFK with one another's Boarding Passes.
I can guarantee you that I do not look like a "Beth" and she does not look like a "Thomas".

And we were both wearing sunglasses.

When I brought it to the attention of the TSA supervisor, she just waved me off and said, "Oh, that's the other Company".

I asked her just what the fuck "other Company" she was speaking of and she asked me if I would mind missing my flight.

What a fucking joke.
