Bush Administration Jobs Report Includes Many Made-Up Jobs

Making Up Jobs

Today’s employment report is mediocre at best. But to understand that, you have to look past the headline numbers.

Those numbers say that the government’s survey of employers showed a gain of 130,000 private sector jobs, on a seasonally adjusted basis, in October. That seems to be better than in recent months.

I don’t believe it. Most of those jobs — 103,000 of them, before seasonal adjustment — were added by the statisticians, not reported by employers. (It should be noted that, before seasonal adjustment, there were 201,000 jobs added, so this is just more than half.)

Why add jobs? It is an effort to include jobs created by new companies not surveyed, less an estimate for jobs lost at companies that went out of business and therefore did not respond to the survey.

2. Most job reports are bogus
A lot of the reports base their claims on people whose unemployment benefits have run out. Recently one "official report" noted there were only 6,000 job losses nationwide for the last quarter however our own state at that same time said there had been over 18,000 jobs lost in the state alone.

3. What new companies?
Are they giving the stats on new incorporations or simply assuming there must be some?

4. Statistics
can be adjusted, changed or modified as you so desire. There isn't a single quote coming out of our government that I trust. That's a crying shame but fits with what my father taught me "don't trust the government".

The CPI is crap. They quote 2-1/4% while it's running closer to 10%. Employment figures are made up. M-3 isn't quoted any more because it badly reflects on the government. Congress and our President lie to us on a regular basis. Every time one of them tells me that what they've done will benefit me I cringe. The only entities that benefit are corporations and/or their officers. The regular Joe's have been taking it the hard way for a long time.

5. The truth will come out in November 2008
the jobs reports, and all other economic reports have been phony since Bush was appointed back in 2000......Now in November 2008...all of a sudden, the actual, truthful stats will be reported just before our Democratic President is sworn in and it "ain't" gonna be good....The American public will then discover that we have been lied to all these years....Just as we are being lied to about the "surge" progress now.Who is gonna contradict these numbers now.....Not the corporate media, and the Federal agencies that release these figures are run by who....Bush appointees right?

6. If they don't make it up
Fox news can't report it.

That's the rule.
