I think it's a stretch.

The headline is misleading, IMO.

He's obviously against gay marriage, but I'm not convinced he thinks a dead hetero parent is better than a living gay one.

The conclusion drawn here is far more logical than the idea that gays and lesbians marrying damages heterosexual marriage. There is no logical argument there whatsoever.

But I understand and respect why others won't see that in what Romney said.
