Bottom line, Senator Russ Feingold announced:
I will not support Mr. Mukasey's nomination.

5. He voted for Ashcroft

And made a big point about deference to the executive on cabinet appointments. So I wasn't sure. However, I think he's seen since then how out of control this executive is, and therefore no longer exercises that deference.
