THE MEDIA DID THIS TO US-Where is Kucinich?
Edited on Sun Nov-04-07 01:58 AM by babylonsister
The Democrats who are running - our choices are a black man or a woman, not a short man who has a lot of the answers.

Think about that. Dennis Kucinich is top notch, and I love his message. He's my guy, and many others, but he's short. Doesn't have the money, but he has the message.

1. don't want no short people 'round here
:)

Maybe he should start talking about discrimination against shortness.

That's the most humorous thing you've ever said! Man, his wife has been getting a lot of attention, people love him, but not the msm. I agree with Kucinich so much!

26. There was no media blackout against Nixon.
He just sweated too much on camera.

Dennis and his platform simply aren't getting airtime.

3. Yup. Because ignorant people don't complain as much.
Nor do distracted people, who think they're doing what will make them the happiest and most secure. As long as there is cable and beer, true revolt will not happen, not on the necessary scale for real change.

Between them and the media, the election process has been taken out of the hands of the people.

7. I don't care how tall he is, or how tall his wife is.
But I've read his writings on his website, and I'm afraid he's way too cerebral/philosophical/new age-y. In other words, though I like his position on Iraq and health care, I think he comes across too esoterical to win states outside of California, perhaps, or Massachusetts.

And he didn't help himself in this regard when, in the debate, he didn't deny MacClaine's report that he not only observed a UFO, but he felt it in his heart and listened to some message coming from it. Good grief. Messages from a UFO? He had the perfect chance to deny that claim and he blew it.

13. If he denied it, he would have been a liar and everyone would be all over him
for that. Why do people hate honesty?

In my not so humble opinion, it's no worse than the chimp, Obama, Clinton or anyone else talking about god.

Did you forget that "god" talks to the chimp and that these other candidates believe in a magical, mythical sky fairy who lives in the clouds, has been dead for 2000 years and is supposed to be coming back to "take them home to heaven"?

24. He wouldn't have had to be a liar. He could have simply said
that he saw a UFO, but didn't recall the incident in the same way that MacClaine did.

Which would be true. He has his own memory, which he is not required to share with anybody.

"I'm afraid he's way too cerebral"

America demands dumb-shits for president - that's why they chose Bush twice.

tells you to ...

All those tall white manly men that are running as republican candidates. That smell good. That's more important than issues.

Another thing. I am short just barely five feet and have been teased all my 75 years. But I imagine it is worst for a man.

11. It's very sad. Dennis has been "disappeared" and it's obvious,
after Timmy's insipid question, they want him to look nuts, too. Right. A nut who wants to end war and give everyone healthcare. I wish during that debate Dennis had mentioned Reagan's UFO sightings.

Stop trusting Dumbfuckistan (U.S.A.) to do anything of substance. This is a wholly corrupt, intellectually-bankrupt entertainment- and sports-obsessed 50-state banana republic crime syndicate that couldn't do shit anymore. Let the collapse begin.

15. The media is starting to discover his young, attractive
wife. In their pitiful pea-brains she's the "angle" they need for a story. On CBS's "Early Show" Friday Hannah Storm couldn't get enough of Mrs. Kucinich's tongue piercing. Even asked to see it. (Elizabeth said 'no.')

Dennis has a great message, but the media has no interest in it.

30. You can't blame the media for everything
The media didn't create the people's appetite for distraction. They've just been feeding it.

"THE" media is just another corporation making (a lot of) money. Remember, media doesn't sell news, media sells advertisement space. They will show anything that gets the ratings up, because that gives them more billboard space.

If people want to see more Kucinich, then the media will give the people more Kucinich.

DK is the pill that will cure this country but even here at DU most people refuse to take it because it looks nasty.

31. Don't Know the candidate rules
so I will delete this if it is against them.

He is unelectable by the general public. The media did not make him unelectable. His positions is far to left of center to make him a reasonable candidate.

Reasonable defined as having a chance of winning.

If he was on the national ballot I would vote for him before a Rupub, of course, but many people would not.

34. Not entirely the media
The problem is that the media and the public have become locked in this downward spiral toward the lowest common denominator. The public might hold liberal positions (as most studies show) but if you call them "liberal", they'll punch you.

I love Dennis. I think he's the most refreshing politician I've seen since Screaming Lord Sutch (and one of the funniest, Kooch has a real ability for the telling quip). He seems very bright, his wife is smoking hot (let's be honest, that never hurts) and, importantly, he's the only one currently running who offers an alternative to Washington's cult of wealth worship.

But, he's short, kind of odd-looking, not the world's best public speaker, the victim of an electorate which has been trained to detest liberalism (even while holding liberal beliefs) and he doesn't have a lot of money (because of his opposition to the wealth-worship) and in recent years, politics resembles less an election than an auction.

If you agree with Dennis, vote for Dennis in the primaries. I would if I was allowed to (I'm a Brit), I'd send him money and help his campaign too and if you believe in him and his views, you should too. Just be prepared for not being able to vote for him in the general.

35. When he was on CBS Morning Show on Friday....
Almost the entire interview was about Elizabeth's piercing. Even when DK and Elizabeth tried to deflect the stupidity, the interviewer kept asking about it... "can I see it"?. Just idiotic.

But even Colbert played him the fool. When he was on CR he did not get to talk about the issues,he did the skit about what wa in his pocket (hilarious yes, but no substance).

The media is just jealous.

Kidding aside, I like about 98% of Dennis's ideas. But as far as the media is concerned he's irrelevant because short men don't get elected to the Presidency, didn't you know you have to be at least 6'2"? :sarcasm:
