That idiot over at FR that does the incredibly unfunny DUmmie FUnnies, (notice the capitalization of DU with FU) is up for some kind of funniest blog award. His main challenger is the Sadly Not blog who apparently isn't even campaigning like this idiot at FR is. The FR fool has been constantly spamming everything he can find to win.

Please go vote for the Sadly Not blog as the funniest, regardless of if you even know what Sadly Not is (which I don't and frankly don't care). Just so this moron doesn't win.

Kevin---The Democratic Underground site is urging its members to vote against the DUmmie FUnnies in the FUnniest Blog category. That's okay. I can take the competition. Their numbers were in about proportion to their normal web traffic and then SUDDENLY it surged. I think they are passing around cheating information based on very SPECIFIC technical advice on how to cheat on polls at one of their own threads which you can see at the link below. I hope the type of cheating outlined at this thread can be detected.

I consider it to be one of the "originals", which is to say, one of the earliest anti-RW satirical sites.

It's been around for AGES (since at LEAST 2003) and it used to be in my regular round of blogs along with Atrios, Kos, Pandagon, Hullabaloo and Crooked Timber as mandatory daily viewing. I have fond memories of Seb's posts.

Sadly, No!

from drawing so much attention to DUmmie FUnnies, could result in otherwise non-politically oriented people reading this goofball's site, and thinking "what the hell is this about?" Then some of them may proceed to check out both DU and FR. These uninitiated folks will take note of the pro-Bush rhetoric on FR. When checking out DU, they will take note of the dissatisfaction and palpable anger at the Bush administration.

Given the approval rating for Bush, which site do you suppose the average person will favor? I'm thinking the average person will say DU wins, over FR. This is not to suggest that the average person is a perfect DU fit, just, that DU is more in concordance with the national mood than FR.

Personally, I've read Sadly No! for years and it's funny as hell. I was appalled at Dummie Funnies, not because DU and our crowd are immune from ridicule, but he isn't funny - at all.

I'll be happy if that lame loser site loses the silly Weblog Award. If even one person is turned away from nasty rightwing sites by looking at DU vs FR, then that's just gravy.

I don't remember now how I found it, but it is a very funny site. They point out how crazy the right wing web is. Great way to keep up on the crazies and laughing at the same time. I think I read the guy who started it lives in Germany. I got there a copule times a week. Love it.
