Jesus wept
The shortest verse in the NT I might add.

He wept because his friend Lazarus had died.

And he then raised him from the dead.

At no cost. He did not ask if he had insurance, or who the provider was.

Jesus went about healing people without any forms to fill out, without showing ID, without taking their money.

And here we are today, where money - the root of all evil - is dictating who gets health care and who does not.

Not love. Money. And it is damned sad to me that so many fellow believers out there vote time and again to put money above the health of others.

For a mere tithing of our income we could save the lives of so many and make their life better.

Jesus weeps again.

1. Yea, Jesus was decent person in my book

One of many organizations that are doing things that actually build infrastructure and educate those who can solve problems directly. Whether or not it's all peaceful and healings in modern times is another question.

2. To my understanding Jesus made the philosophy of
in God I trust cool before it was time to be cool, then he threw the money changers out of the temple, fast forward to today and we have "In God We Trust" on our money, this seems ironic to me.

3. Well, the Jesus-as-supernatural-being is a myth to many of us, but
he did seem to be a good (mortal) person. I'd never buy that he literally raised someone from the dead, or that he himself rose from the dead, or that he's going to "come back" sometime (aaaaaany day now, the fundies say).

Too many of his followers act exactly the opposite of what he reportedly espoused.

Jesus didn't know if that sheep was black or white or gay or straight.
He just knew that it was lost and it was his.
