The Republican presidential wannabes see our biggest threats as terrorism, Hillary Clinton, gay marriage, Hillary Clinton, illegal immigrants, Hillary Clinton, abortion, Hillary Clinton, liberals and big government run by Hillary Clinton.
Big Brother government run by George Bush doesn't seem to bother them.
Terrorism is the only real danger on their list, and it's a big one.
Osama and the boys want to destroy our way of life. They demonstrate the will and psychopathic tendencies to keep trying.
But there is another threat to our way of life, and it, too, is big.
The way George Bush wants to fight terrorism could undermine our individual rights, civil liberties and moral authority.
Consider that the nominee to be attorney general of the United States - our top lawyer - is unwilling to say it's illegal to use an interrogation method that simulates drowning. Michael Mukasey finds waterboarding "repugnant," but he won't call it torture. Why? Because the statement might come back to haunt him if he gets confirmed and finds out the practice is in widespread use by U.S. interrogators.
What country is this?
