Supermodel 'rejects dollar pay' (BBC) {Euros OK}
The world's richest model has reportedly reacted in her own way to the sliding value of the US dollar - by refusing to be paid in the currency.

Gisele Bündchen is said to be keen to avoid the US currency because of uncertainty over its strength.

The Brazilian, thought to have earned about $30m in the year to June, prefers to be paid in euros, her sister and manager told the Bloomberg news agency.

However, Ms Bündchen, 27, declined to comment on her pay arrangements.

Last week the dollar hit long-term lows against the euro, the British pound and the Canadian dollar.

3. Oh this is just the beginning of a vicious circle
More and more large industries will demand the same, further weakening the dollar, which means more will want to be paid in Euros, etc. etc. Yep, our economy is starting down a long slide, best to start making preparations and stocking up on essentials.

6. Americans prefer to be paid in dollars
The Euro was weaker than the dollar just a few years ago; despite this, Europe was (and continues to be,) a better place to be a worker than the US.

A strong dollar enables outsourcing and the overconsumption of imports, leading to massive trade imbalances.

5. That makes her a supermodel of terror. . .
since that's what Iraq, Iran, and North Korea did or threatened to do prior to being labeled rogue states comprising the "axis of evil."

So since we trashed Iraq, are threatening Iran, and mucking around with North Korea, how will our fearful leader bully Gisele. . .the supermodel of terror?

Yikes.

7. Can't blame her. She probably pays taxes in both countries
so why pay more for less:)

I wish I could figure out a way to transfer our CDs to Iceland.. They have double-digit interest rates there :)

If companies can outsource their operations to get the biggest bang for the buck, why not tyhe rest of us :)

9. My wife has been to Europe on business five times in the last two months.
Every time her pocket money has been worth less and less at exchange.

It's on the company dime for the most part, so only the cost of presents have been going up for us.
