Is Feinstein the Democrats' Next Lieberman?
For the second time in recent months, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) on Friday confirmed that she will break ranks with a majority of her Democratic colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, in this case to confirm President Bush's nominee for attorney general.

Sen. Feinstein's support for the Mukasey nomination is a big victory for the White House. (Getty Images)Feinstein, along with Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), announced that she will support Michael B. Mukasey's nomination, virtually assuring his confirmation despite the nominee's controversial refusal to declare an interrogation technique called waterboarding to be an illegal form of torture.

The decision to back Bush's nominee sparked immediate outrage among the liberal anti-war "Netroots" community, many of whom had been pushing aggressively for the undecided Democrats on Judiciary to oppose Mukasey. Within minutes of the Schumer-Feinstein announcements, timed to be released at the same moment, the liberal blog Talking Points Memo blasted the news on its home page, while Democrats.com urged readers to refuse to give money to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which is chaired by Schumer.

Schumer's wavering on the issue was much debated and discussed over the past week, as his indecision was featured in profiles in The Washington Post, New York Times and insider publications like Roll Call and The Hill. Feinstein's role was just as pivotal and received nowhere near as much attention, but some think that will change.

7. "Is Feinstein the Democrats' Next Lieberman" I'm begining to think..
that she was before Lieberman at this time... She stood up for the 2 brave Border Guards that are serving 11 and 12 year sentences... but never followed thru. with that... They are still in prision... She is a major loser and should get her ass the hell out of this job and let someone that is going to do it, succeed her....

seemed to call straight into a guy that answered the phone in her SF office, and he registered his complaint & concern about the AG going through process, from the middle of his show http://www.1240talkcity.com/shows/peterbcollins/index.php

14. Remember back in the 1970's or 80's I think
Feinstein was a Mayor in California. They were searching for a serial killer they nicknamed the "Night Stalker". Well they had a clue, they made casts of his tennis shoes. They kept it back from the press so they could verify it when they found him. Well to give herself an edge with the press, Feinstein screwed the case up and gave the information out. The guy promptly got rid of the tennis shoes. They caught him anyway, but the police were mad as hell that she almost blew the case.

16. Who am I?
In 1999, I introduced a resolution to censure President Bill Clinton.
In 2001, I was Condi Rice's sponsor at her Senate confirmation hearing.
In 2002, I voted to authorize President George W. Bush to use force in Iraq
In 2006, I opposed Russ Feingold's resolution to censure President George W. Bush. (no blow job? no deal)
In 2006, I opposed Feingold again by supporting the extension to the so-called PATRIOT ACT
In 2007, I supported the hawkish Kyl-Lieberman Amendment.

25. How irrelevant is she?
Hopefully, by the day after the 08 election - nobody will give a shit what Joe says or does. Will we feel the same about Dianne? Seems like her actions will determine that...

Recently anyway, she seems to be moving the way of Joe.

29. Check it out: Schumer, Feinstein ‘surprise’ thwarts efforts on Mukasey
The coordinated statements released late Friday afternoon by two Democratic senators that they would break ranks and support President Bush’s attorney general nominee largely muted opposition from a Democratic base that has become increasingly frustrated with Congress, activist leaders said Monday.

32. What deal has just been brokered at the expense of Californians by Feinstein and Bush?
Keep in mind the recent Air force One "tea" she had with Bush Jr.

It wasn't simply a photo opportunity, was it?
