Evangelizing for the animals
She spent years as an outspoken antiabortion activist, and that cause remains dear to her. But these days, Karen Swallow Prior has a new passion: animal welfare.

She wasn't sure, at first, that advocating for God's four-legged creatures would go over well on the campus of Liberty University, a fundamentalist Baptist institution founded by the Rev. Jerry Falwell.

Among the Liberty faculty -- and conservative evangelicals in general -- the animal-rights movement is often disdained as a secular, liberal cause.

But activists have been working with increasing intensity to shed that image. They're lecturing in Quaker meetinghouses and Episcopal churches, setting up websites that post Scripture alongside recipes for vegan soup -- and using biblical language to promote political initiatives, such as laws mandating bigger cages for pregnant pigs.

5. Swallow-Prior
I witnessed the chaos that Ms. Swallow-Prior and her
associates (the Schenk brothers,)in the so called pro-life
movement, brought to Buffalo during the mass demonstrations
called the Spring of Life. These people terrorized anyone
trying to use the women's clinic and damn near brought the
city to a standstill. Thanks to the courageous efforts of the
pro choice community the clinic stayed (and remains to the
present) open.
Her involvement in the animal rights movement will bear
watching. I find it ironic that she is willing to show to
animals the concern, compassion she did not display to women.

6. Welcome to DU.
What a putz she really is. How do these people know Adam and Eve only ate fruits and veggies anyway? Also, if God made all these fruits and veggies why didn't he honor Cain's alter of the harvest and reward Able for his slaughtered animal sacrifice? Did they eat the meat later on? These fundies sure can't think deeply.

Just a general question to their belief that Adam and Eve were vegetarians before the "fall".

8. Welcome
I have often wondered if they noted two things about their
god.
1. People have canine teeth. How many herbivores have or
would need canines?
2, What do they think comprised the burnt offerings that their
god was so very fond of?
