a bad smell on a plane with consequences

http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index.php?smp=&lang=eng

Five US Airways crew members were taken to a hospital Monday after becoming ill aboard a flight from Washington. The crew and passengers had complained about a sulfur-type odor after the flight left Ronald Reagan-Washington National Airport, so the flight returned to the airport and the passengers and crew were moved to another plane. Five crew members still became ill with unspecified symptoms, according to Valerie Wunder, a spokeswoman for US Airways, based in Phoenix. The crew members were taken to a hospital after the flight landed in Boston. They were treated with oxygen after complaining of headaches and nausea, said Boston EMS Lt. Christopher Stratton. Two of them showed symptoms of exposure to carbon monoxide, he said. "I guess there was some question about a malfunctioning oil pump," Stratton said, but added that it "has yet to be determined if that was the initial source." None of the 81 passengers on Flight 2022 was affected, Wunder said. The Association of Flight Attendants issued a news release saying the illnesses highlight the need to study aircraft cabin air for potential toxins, which it has long urged.)

as long as the neo cons are in charge the air will stay the same.

2. Airplane cabins are toxic bio hazards
Between the chemicals in the plane, the fuel, the food and the people and their personal perfumes and aromas then add in all the germs and disease flying through the air.

4. I flew AA four times in the past few days -
On the first flight I was served my beverage and was provided a cup of ice. I poured my coke into the cup and lifted it to drink and was overwhelmed by a bad and very strong chemical odor. I determined it was the ice. I gave it back to the attendant and suggested they check the ice and not serve it to anyone.

Her entire response - Oh, that ice was picked up in St. Louis.

6. I guess -
I decided I will never again use airplane ice from St. Louis or anywhere else.

The attendant could care less - they just kept serving that stinky ice.
