a hard time understanding why everyone is all upset about Mukasey's answer about water boarding. Can someone put this into perspective for me? Thanks in advance.

Water boarding is a torture technique that has been used for over 500 years.

The international community has long ago condemned it's use because it is an act of torture.

The United States has in the past prosecuted those it found to be water boarding.

Mukasey refuses to answer the question of if he believes water boarding is torture and the legality of it's use. Mukasey uses some logic-defying lame excuse that he hasn't been briefed as to the bush* "enhanced interrogation" techniques, therefore he has no opinion.

What are your thoughts on Mukasey? Where you unaware of the information that I posted above when you asked your question, or did you already know and disagree with being opposed to an AG who doesn't have a grasp of the laws that he will be charged to enforce?
