I feel as if we are on the precipice of a great disaster
Maybe I'm just a pessimist. But it feels like by the United States is on the verge of a disaster. We have our economy teetering on the verge of a major recession, the dollar is in retreat worldwide, energy costs are skyrocketing. Bush seems hell-bent on starting some shit with Iran before his presidency is over. Any military action against Iran could easily escalate into a much broader regional (if not global) war, drawing in Israel, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, India, China, and Russia. On top of that, I fear that with the instability in Pakistan, it's only a matter of time before their nukes wind up in the wrong hands, people who might not hesitate to use them.

Almost ALL of this is directly or indirectly due to BUSH and his fucking incompetence!

WAKE UP, Congress! IMPEACH THE MOTHERFUCKERS ALREADY! This isn't about politics or payback for the Clinton impeachment, it's MUCH more serious than that! DO YOUR FUCKING JOB ALREADY!

6. That's "interesting times", but there are plenty of both to go around these days

until the last seven years.

2. The nukes are already in the wrong hands
Bush and Cheney's.

Face it, we're already falling off the cliff. Don't mind the people insisting that we aren't in freefall...they have their eyes closed and and their hands over their ears.

The question remains...how much of our world are we willing to let them fuck up?

3. What you see are the results of peak oil, global warming and
the lack of global population control. *Bush's impulsiveness accelerates everything. The invasion of Iraq was supposed to fix all the problems; it made everything worse.

4. The thing that bothers me is what happens when Bush sets off a
much broader war. There will have to be a real national mobilization - a draft. What will the population do? I think that this country will disintegrate when this happens. There are too many people who clearly understand that the coming world war will be 100% Bush's fault - will you send you kids to die for Bush's Folly? But we will be in a real war, even though we will be the "bad" guys, the country will be under attack - what will you do?

dozen shoes are going to drop and we will be in a world of hurt. (as compared to now)

7. a poem for you.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, 5
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
