Let's clear one thing up: the repukes voting not to table, do NOT support impeachment
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 03:54 PM by cali
They want a full debate on it, and they think it would be politically advantageous to have a vote on impeachment. This is NOT about the repukes in the House believing Cheney should be impeached.

At one point, it looked light it would be tabled easily. Then Repubs started switching to not table it. Now some Dems appear to be switching to not table.

That's the problem with on-line communication - misinterpretation.

48. But wouldn't they have done that (out, over, and done with)...
if they'd voted to Table it??

Or, maybe they're certain none of their paid shills will report anything about the debate itself... yeaw, that must be it... because, if just a peep about the dick-traitor's horrendous crimes "manages" to cruise to the corrupt M$M's outlets, the 9% tyrrant doesn't stand a chance... (or, rather: THEY won't stand a chance if they vote not to impeach his war criminal a**).

49. Someone could correct me on this, but I believe
that tabling it allows it to come back up at a later date where taking it to the floor can defeat it in total, requiring it to need to be represented.

Bt we have to see what kind of district the Repubs who voted not to table come from...

It could have been just to show that they had stood up to Bush...

I'll bet if real push came to real shove, they would have voted to table...

IT also could have been a ploy to address DK's main issue in order to nuetralize him and get him out of the race...

All sorts of things go into these votes...

Rep's so bad that it is hard to see how it could do anything but help the Rep's.

I think it is worth it not on grounds of political gain but on the grounds it will help to restore our image in the world. It will show we take care of problems ourselves and don't just let war criminals go unpunished.

The public never pays attention to the debate. Only the outcome.

Unless the MSM is all over it the general public rarely hears anything about it.

Ask some random person tonight or tomorrow and they will probably respond " Who is Dennis Kucinich?" while giving you a confused look.

68. Why SHOULDN'T we have a full debate?
It would HELP our party for their to be a full debate, with all the facts about what this administration has been doing being brought out.

77. Exactly.
I'm so tired for the Dem's saying, "Well, we don't have enough votes, so we don't even want to bring it up." Fuck that bullshit! I want them to debate it. I want the facts told.

You know, I can see the Pukes defending Bush (though I don't agree with it), but Cheney??? Are ya fuckin' kidding me?

75. Getting the issues out in the open, even if for only a 1 hour debate...

is certainly worth the effort. I could care less what the GOP objectives are, and how they feel this may play out politically. This is our Constitution and the reputation of our nation which are at stake. Too many stupid, short-sighted Democrats only care about the short-term political consequences. Please don't be one of them.

82. So. Debating about a guy with an 11% approval rating is GOOD FOR US.
Repukes are miscalculating on this one. Americans are PISSED about the war and want to hold someone accountable. Talk of impeaching Cheney will not be met with a backlash...you watch.
