14. Fine with me. She lacks basic leadership skills. Like cojones.
All talk and no action. And that "impeachment is off the table" crap. 'Cause, you know, if it doesn't involve sex then it's nothing to bother impeaching over.......

22. It's hight stakes poker, and, unfortunately, the republican
leadership is very good at it. They just out gamed our leadership, eating Pelosi and Hoyer for a mid-afternoon snack.

Of course the repubs don't want Cheney impeached, but they also know that a LOT of dems don't want to go through with impeachment, fearing public backlash, and so the repubs have just forced the dems hand. Now, the dems need to show some balls and back Kucinich. That would be the only way we can turn this whole thing around, and for Pelosi and Hoyer to save face.

23. "fearing public backlash"
Cheney's at 9%
The house is at 11%
If the Dems vote to impeach their approvals would skyrocket.
Oh well.

17. It will result in a vote.
Let the repukes go on record as saying they don't think cheney's done anything wrong.

Let them try to distance themselves from that vote.

24. Thank you - now I get it. This is from an AP early story:
"We're going to help them out, to explain themselves," said Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas. "We're going to give them their day in court."

30. No hearings or anything, it only facilitates a vote on impeachment.
In which case, the Dems would have gotten slaughtered. The GOP would have certainly banded together and more than enough center/center-right Dems would have joined them to kill the articles of impeachment.

No hearings, no exposure of Cheney's shenanigans, nothing. HR333 was a worthless idea.

12. Republicans try to play mind games--what else is new. I'm ore interested
in why so many Dems insist on voting the way they do. As a Dem, I have been more than upset with this House for some time.

15. Republicans want a showdown
Simple as that. They know the Democrats don't have the votes to impeach. Bringing it to a vote would let them prove that, plus, it makes it much harder to reintroduce impeachment later. The Repugs would start saying "It's just the weekly impeachment pander to the lunatic fringe of the Democrat party."
I wish the Democratic leadership had the votes, but without them, it seems that Dennis is simply grandstanding. He knew (or at least he should have known) that a failed impeachment vote would be a "win" for Repugs and that the Dems would not let that happen.

Lockstep, anyone? I've read the entire resolution, and it has a lot more CRIME in it than the resolution for impeaching Clinton had. So how are we wrong to call our Dem leaders out on this?

20. Party before country.
Yup that is the way to go.

Good lord, they are ours and when they fuck up we aren't supposed to be angry and call them on it?

Now if you don't think it was a fuck up then I can see why you are upset but there is never a good reason to try to quiet people when they express their opinion.

26. When people express
displeasure over something the party is doing, especially something as important as impeachment and we KNOW that Cheney is guilty as sin yet they don't vote for it and we complain we get tons of people yelling about how we should not say bad things about Democrats. The OP did not have to say it, if they can't fucking even vote to consider impeachment of the biggest fucking criminal this country has ever had in high office then asking or getting upset over the criticism says just that. Stick with the "good guys", forget the constitution we need to get elected. K?

29. Sorry
I was trying to write then leave. I am back now so I will try.

It is not and never should be a no no to criticize your party. Sometimes you like what they do sometimes not. This is a bit different. We KNOW Cheney has committed these crimes. We know he is the worst and most evil person ever to hold high office. When the Dems voted to table people were angry and felt totally betrayed. To call out people for getting upset and criticizing the Dems makes the case that we should not do that. You know that, we see it here nearly every day anymore. Now I believe we should always be on their cases, they work for us and they aren't just flipping burgers. It is important and this is a discussion board. The call to not criticize is a call to be quiet while we watch them sell us down the river. That is what I call party before country.

I may be wrong but I believe I am right. You may not, that is cool. We all need to be tempered from time to time and none of us like it. I do, however refuse to be quiet when I think they are wrong and selling us out. I will not be a party person, I am not even a Democrat anymore. That is where my answer, as messed up as it may have been, was coming from.

Again, I should know better than to write in a hurry, especially after an emotional afternoon like today. My bad. Hope this makes more sense.

31. Having read the resolution as soon as it was available last spring,
I'll attack whomever I see as complicit in enabling this administration's criminal regime regardless of what party they belong to.

As far as I'm concerned, it's Pelosi, Hoyer, and all of the 135 Democrats who voted to table this resolution have attacked the Democrats who are still willing to support and defend the Constitution.

Sorry, but when the Democrats are fucking up, I'm going to call them on it every time
If you don't like that, then get the Dems to quit fucking up, plain and simple. I will not be putting party ahead of anything else, that is what republicans do, and look where it has gotten us. It is time that we went beyond this party uber alles shit and started doing what is right for this country.

It's reached a level of pure ignorance in many cases.

Kudos to the mods for allowing the ignorance to occur though. Misguided outrage needs an outlet.
