Donate $7.99 for Kucinich Campaign? H. Res. 799 to Impeach, $7.99 to Show Support
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 05:41 PM by CorpGovActivist
Here is a copy of the speech that Congressman Kucinich delivered today: http://kucinich.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=77847

According to the Washington Post, the bill is now known as H. Res. 799: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/06/AR2007110601451.html

Perhaps Congressman Kucinich should borrow a page out of Ron Paul's internet fundraising success and urge pro-impeachment Americans of whatever political strip to contribute $7.99 to his campaign (and then issue a press release at the end of this quarter reporting how many such contributions he received).

It would probably scare the buh-jeez-us out of the "front runners" if Kucinich were suddenly flush with campaign cash from lots of $7.99, $79.90, and $799.00 donations.

1. I can't believe the political bullshit...

if Cheney is allowed to continue in his war efforts, there won't be any money available for child healthcare, or any other social programs for that matter.

6. Kucinich's Closing Remarks Made It Seem Like New Resolution
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 06:21 PM by CorpGovActivist
Here's how the WaPo article ends:
*******************************************************
House approval of an article of impeachment sends the issue to the Senate, which has the constitutional authority to try and, with a two-thirds vote, remove a person from office.

___

The bill is H. Res 799.

On the Net:

Congress: http://thomas.loc.gov/

*******************************************************

Thomas says it takes up to a couple of days for a new bill/resolution to show up there.

Kucinich's own closing remarks made it seem like it may be a new resolution, separate from 333: "Mr. Speaker: This resolution is similar to a resolution which I introduced earlier this year and has the support of 22 of my colleagues here in the House of Representatives."

A month, from now until this is over. I can do without something. Ice cream or two pay per view movies or something. It's a bargain, really.

18. Monthly Pledge Would Really Send a Message...
... with reliable monthly recurring cash flow, his campaign could probably gain some traction on impeachment. If he turns his campaign into an impeachment lightning rod, he might just find that lightning strikes (each month).

$7.99?

How about $79.99 or $799.00.

Pony up some real scratch.

Sheesh. $7.99 won't even get you a pizza without a coupon. You can't even buy Starcraft I for that.

25. The Higher Figures ...
... you mentioned are in the OP, but the lower figure is there to show that even a little bit helps.

Plus, if each person resolves to give monthly, it would provide him with recurring cash flow to keep his ads fresh and running.

Maybe what we need is a Kucinich impeachment money bomb, not a meager monthly trickle.

27. That Money Bomb...
... you speak of was made up of lots of small donations. That's one of the very reasons the MSM focused in on it.

I think if the pundits saw lots of symbolic donations show up on Kucinich's reports in decimal denominations of 333 and 799, they'll report that "Kucinich has received thousands of small to large donations made out in the symbolic amounts that match the impeachment resolution numbers."
