The House Leadership Must Go
Today's fiasco over Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment proves that they are utterly inept, both at short-term tactical politics and long-term strategic vision.

Pelosi's "Impeachment is off the table" mantra handed the repugs the advantage today, and they used it to make the House Democrats look like buffoons. Hoyer's failure to gavel the proceedings to a halt allowed it to happen.

Pelosi and Hoyer should be ridden out of town on a rail, but first they must be stripped of their leadership positions. They have no idea what they're doing. Today proved that without question.

1. Yes, they knew the Dems would not back Dennis, that they are weak-kneed.

And they dragged their naked asses right through the street (in front of their loved ones).

2. never forget the first vote on the motion to table (kill) the Articles
House Democrats were overwhelmingly voting to table the Articles, which would have killed them outright.

Why were so many Democrats voting against Articles of Impeachment? I think they must have been under orders to keep the powder dry.

17. They knew the dems would not back Dennis because they (Pelosi and Hoyer)
made absolutely sure the Dem's would not back Dennis. They spend more energy making sure the dems won't do anything progressive than they do trying to end the war.

3. They didn't make anyone look like buffons
Just because the Republicans are saying that's what they did, doesn't mean it's true. People are not going to care about this in the long run, because it mean nothing.

6. i disagree...they made House Democrats look ridiculous
by voting not only to table Articles of Impeachment but then to shuffle them off to committee after the House voted to hear them?

in what way does that make House Democrats look like they are at all interested in challenging the WH, or even that they are not sitting in chimpy's lap?

11. I disagree!
The Democrats looked foolish all by themselves!

Man, did you catch the deer in the headlights expression on Hoyers face?

5. yeah, yeah. But we have no way of impacting this
except by witholding donations and voting. They're fucking hapless, and we're fucking stuck with them.

keep hoping, they could really turn this into a BIG, BIG plus for the Dem's if they are smart enough to see it and act. The Republics handed them a lemon, will they turn it into lemon aid?

12. Kucinich should be in the leadership...
I say make the Democrats vote with Cheney -- we need to see where the enemies of freedom lurk, especially if they are near.

14. Of course they know what they are doing. They are working for their corporate employers.
Yes we do need new leadership, but don't buy the tall tale that they are incompetent.

They know exactly what they are doing, or not doing for that matter.

15. If I didn't know better I couldn't tell the Democrats
from the Rethugs in so many instances.

It's as if the Democrats take turns taking the hits so it won't be the same ones taking the NO votes to the floor.

It's a sham ~ all smoke and mirrors.
