Some dems want to look forward and not backward. (no impeachment)

edited for spelling.

I won't link to them and unleash the wrath, but I do not agree with this plan and want to state why.

1. We cannot know where we are going unless we know where we have been. There are many many events that have not been thoroughly investigated, and the reports to Congress and the people have been blocked. Examples? Septembertheeleventh, Katrina, Plame, Niger forgeries, etc. etc. etc.

2. Some if not all of the major players in this administration have possibly committed treason. What does this say to future criminals? It's ok? They won't do anything to you because the other side will retaliate? These are fucking crimes. Not politics. Crimes. War crimes. Crimes against the country. Crimes designed to bring down the government.

3. "Our agenda is full and we can't spend time on impeachment." What? What exactly have we accomplished lately? We have passed a few bills in the House only to have them filibustered in the Senate. The most popular ones get vetoed.

4. George W. Bush has surpassed Richard M. Nixon in the lowest approval rating. The People hate him. They hate his vice president more. And they hate Congress more, too. Not the democrats or the republicans, but the whole Congress. What employee would you keep around who has been robbing you blind and destroying your business, because you think you should think happy thoughts about the future? What are you protecting? George Bush the person? He has no soul. The presidency? He has destroyed it. Mission accomplished. And he has destroyed the courts and the Congress, too, while you were looking forward.

4. Probably the most important. How many children should wait for health insurance while we are looking forward? How many soldiers who no longer know what they are fighting for or who they should be fighting will die while we are looking forward? How many minorities will be disenfranchised while we are looking forward? How many Americans will die of poisoning from toys, drugs and food while we are looking forward? How many more major metropolitan areas will be destroyed and neglected to scatter the democratic base? How long before the rethugs start target practice on the immigrants? How many foreclosures will happen while we are looking forward? If you don't put a stop to this shit now, nothing on your agenda will matter, because there won't be anyone here to look forward with you.

So, I say to you, better to look around you than to dream of a future that may never be. We need to make a way for the future, not jump over the bodies of those left behind.

And dem leaders: YOUR POWDER IS SO DRY IT IS FLOATING AWAY.

/end rant

the dems want a taste of the new powers - and have no intention of giving it up. Whats the point of impeaching a president for the exact breaches of law and constituion you intend to continue breaching yourself.

Whats the point in prosecuting and jailing the help, when you don't want your help going to jail for the same things.

Meet the new boss - same as the old boss.

All thats left is a wry smile, as the Repugs find themselves fast approaching the day when they will be subject to the same illegal procedures they have happily carried out on everyone else.

Wonder how Billo and Coultergest are gonna feel about their phone calls being listened in on.

But thats just the amusung small picture

for the big picture and the fascist state BushCo has started by stealth - doesn't look like its going anywhere in the forseeable future - all that new found control is a wet dream for the power hungry
