Well first the set-up. My city is so blue that sometimes Republicans don't even bother to even put forth a candidate.

This year the Republicans tried to field a Mayor to challenge our incumbent progressive Mayor and their candidate (Stith) tried to come off to the public as a main-stream, middle-of-the-road guy. He definitely wasn't, but he knew better than to spout off like a wild-eyed repub and basically tried to run as a democrat (wolf in sheep's clothing really).

Here's a sign that popped up all over town a few days ago. I got a kick out of it:

ETA: It's Durham NC.

1. Sounds like a little Utopia.
I almost picture a Norman Rockwell painting or a Maxfield Parrish illustration with beautiful music playing, birds singing, children playing baseball in the park and fishing at the lake.

:pals: :loveya: :hi: :kick: :7 :9 O8)

3. Come on over! We're not perfect, but we're not cookie-cutter either!

Much good stuff happening. Lots of progressives and liberals and proud of it! :patriot:
