Iowa senator to launch probe of six televangelists
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0ef_1194367103

CBS News has learned Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is investigating six prominent televangelist ministries for possible financial misconduct.

Letters were sent Monday to the ministries demanding that financial statements and records be turned over to the committee by December 6th.

According to Grassley's office, the Iowa Republican is trying to determine whether or not these ministries are improperly using their tax-exempt status as churches to shield lavish lifestyles.

The six ministries identified as being under investigation by the committee are led by: Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. Three of the six - Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar - also sit on the Board of Regents for the Oral Roberts University.

1. Forgive me for this, but my first thought when seeing the subject line
would get this thread locked in a hot hurry

It is about time, though, that these charlatans are investigated and held to scrutiny for the
"tax free" fleecing of the masses.

2. Good!
I've never known of an evangelist who wasn't a crooked piece of human slime, and the more famous the sons-of-bitches are, the more they need to be thrown in jail.

7. Why does John Hagee escape scrutiny?
His entire family, even his ex wife's family works for the family business Cornerstone Church. He own thousands of acres of land near Uvalde and Bracketville in South Texas and a prime 220 acre compound in the most beautiful secluded idealic Hill Country town of Tarpley located in Bandera County paid for and designed for parishoners retreats. They had maybe two retreats in the past six years. It's now a occupied by some of his current wife's the ....former unmarried and pregnant adultrous church secretary Diana Castro Hagee... huge extended family members who are now the caretakers of this sprawling country vista complete with lake big enough to ski, a fleet of six armoured humvee's and no telling how many deer rifles and other such popular automatic hunting equipment... this high fence gated compound guarded with Lion's statue's is kept ready as for a safe place if the tribulation comes and John doesn't get swept away. I believe at his current weight he would not qualify for the rapture under the glutton clause.

9. When does Pat Robertson get investigated?
For his coddling with African dictators?

For his ministry-funded diamond smuggling 'humanitarian' missions?

For his political endorsements?

For being an absolute scumbag?
